I am a wife of over 21 years, a mother of two college aged daughters, and have a son in high school. I have happily lived in the Jacksonville area since 1990 and can’t believe the vast development of the area since that time.

My first experience with survival swim lessons was in 1999, when my daughter and her friend participated in a swim program to learn how to roll onto their backs and float. I was amazed with what they learned. When I had my second child, I knew these lessons were a must. I was so motivated about the lifesaving skills my daughters had learned, I decided I had to become a part of something so spectacular. I decided to become a certified swim Instructor who could teach the same life-saving skills.

I began teaching swim lessons in 2004 and since that time, I have taught more than 2,000 children throughout the Jacksonville area. I worked diligently to expand my knowledge and in 2007, I was invited into an exclusive program designed to train advanced Instructors. Through this advanced training, I became a Master Instructor.

As a Master Instructor, I studied theoretical concepts in behavioral sciences, child development, psychology, and child anatomy and physiology. I, also, trained Instructors to teach children survival swimming across the country (and further) - in Florida, Washington, Georgia, Virginia, Hawaii an even Colombia. Because of my dedication and superior experience, I was asked to lead a department dedicated to the the mentoring of hundreds of new Instructors. My department provided guidance and troubleshooting to enhance their on-going Instructor development. We helped to identify theoretical gaps and improve their efficiency and effectiveness in the water as Instructors. This was often aided by conducting many hours of academic and video review sessions. During re-certification conferences, I conducted workshops that supported Instructor development and held in-water training sessions.

As I am teaching your child the skills needed to survive an aquatic accident, you’ll see that I am passionate about what I do. As I customize my lessons to each individual student, I respond to that specific child's temperament, skill level, personal needs and mood. I try to find the best technique to give him/her the skills to succeed. At times, you may see me be firm, silly, or extremely focused - depending on the needs of your child at that time. Regardless, I want to ensure that all students leave my program with the tools and confidence to survive any aquatic accident.

In addition, I want parents to feel educated and confident in their child(ren)’s newly learned skills. I want them to know how to help maintain these newly acquired aquatic skills and how to encourage their child(ren) beyond the initial training.

If desired, parents will have the opportunity to get in the water and learn how to reinforce these lifesaving skills. My goal is to teach children the skills they will use for a lifetime. I have learned that when children obtain aquatic skills at a young age, they exude confidence and are more assured in other aspects of their lives too.

I am excited about the opportunity to provide you the peace of mind of knowing your child can survive an aquatic accident. I look forward to meeting you and your little one soon.

Warmest regards,
