FINANCIAL POLICY:

  1. I understand that the registration fee and each lesson fee once paid to Little Seals Swim School becomes non-refundable. Payment is for holding your child's spot on the schedule, regardless of whether s/he attends lessons. Please refer to the canceled vs missed lessons portion below.
  2. We recommend selecting auto pay when you sign up to avoid late fees or credit card fees. Auto pay will process your credit card on Friday for the upcoming week of lessons automatically. There will be no transaction fees added to the auto pay. (Please make sure your card is current and has not expired or been replaced.)
  3. By providing a valid credit or debit card, customer is expressly authorizing all services and fees to be charged to such payment card, including recurring payments billed on a weekly basis, without verbal or written notice from Little Seals Swim School. In addition, customer’s provided credit card shall be used for any in-month purchases of additional services.
  4. When a parent cancels a lesson, for any reason (illness, vacation, appointments, etc.), the parent is required to pay for that lesson. Should your child fall ill and need an extended amount of time out of the pool, please contact your Instructor as soon as possible.
  5. If the Instructor cancels a lesson, for any reason (pool chemicals, instructor illness, family obligations, etc.), the lesson fee will be credited to your account. If your Instructor offers you a rescheduled time for a canceled lesson, and you accept the new time and/or date, a credit will not be given if the rescheduled lesson is missed/canceled by the parent. If your child finishes lessons with any credits on their account, those credits are to be used within the same calendar year in which the were acquired. Credits will NOT roll over to the next year.
  6. Registration and Lesson Fees: "Proof of Delivery" consists of correspondence from Little Seals Swim School acknowledging that your child(ren)s registration form has been submitted. All registration fees, as well as weekly fees, are non-refundable once paid.
  7. PAYMENT DATES: All weekly fees are due on Thursday at your lesson time via cash, check, or online using your student invoice link (found in your lesson sign-up confirmation email). If payment is not made and you have not selected the auto pay option, the card you placed on file will be charged for the weekly lesson fee plus an additional $20 administrative fee.
  8. Maintenance Lesson Fees: Maintenance lessons will be charged at a rate of $30 per lesson. All maintenance lessons must be prepaid via cash, check, online using your student invoice link, or via the auto pay selection. If prepayment has not been made, your Instructor will process your credit card for the cost of the lesson plus a $10 transaction fee. Students are automatically scheduled for maintenance lessons and will need to cancel their lesson by the time indicated on the weekly email to avoid being charged the full lesson fee.
  9. Insufficient Funds Fee: There is a $30 fee plus bank fees for any insufficient funds. These fees are non-refundable, non-negotiable, and do not apply toward the weekly lesson fee.
  10. Credit Card Failed Fee: If your credit card payment fails, a $30 fee will be added to your account.

LESSON GUIDELINES:

  1. Swim Diaper: Any child, that has not been potty trained for at least 6 months, is required to use a re-usable swim diaper. Disposable swim diapers WILL NOT be allowed in the pool, as they have been proven to be ineffective in the pool environment.
  2. Timeliness: Promptness is a must! Your child's lesson time is the time he/she should be ready to begin the lesson. Please arrive (no more than) 5 minutes early to dress your child. If you are late to lessons, your Instructor can give you what is left of your lesson time, if any is available, but CANNOT guarantee a full lesson or a lesson at all. If no lesson is given due to not being on time, it will not be considered a credit.
  3. While promptness is important, please do not arrive more than 5 minutes before your scheduled lesson time. This will cut down on the number of cars on the property at any given time. This is a concern of the city of Jacksonville when running a home-based business and can cause issues if parking becomes excessive and problematic.
  4. Diet: Diet is an important aspect of your child's lesson experience. Your child should not eat/drink high-fat foods or dairy products within 2 hours of their lesson time. We highly recommend that strawberries, apples, grapes, avocados, and peaches be eaten after lessons, instead of before lessons, if possible. All other food/drink should be avoided for at least 1 hour prior to lessons.
  5. Towels: We have a THREE towel MINIMUM. Specific instructions will be given poolside for the placement of the 3 lesson towels.
  6. Flotation Devices: Please do NOT allow your child to wear any type of flotation devices (water wings, puddle jumper, etc) during the course of lessons. This does not apply to using a Coast Guard approved floatation device while on a watercraft. Once your child's lessons are complete your Instructor can instruct you on appropriate ways to let your child play with floats in the water, which will minimize the impact on their newly attained skills. The use of flotation devices will increase the number of lessons required for your child to attain aquatic survival skills.
  7. Pictures/Video: Picture taking by spectators is permitted and encouraged. Videotaping is permitted on Thursdays only, but the recording of the entire lesson is PROHIBITED. Please speak with your Instructor before taking a video. If you post to social media, please get permission from your Instructor first. Once approved, please tag your Instructor and "check-in" at Little Seals Swim School. Thanks!
