Introduction to stroke lessons are available for children that are developmentally ready (usually beginning between 4 and 6 years of age). Instructors are trained to present introductory stroke lessons in a fun way that is relatable to young children.
~ Intro to Stroke Lessons ~
Our Intro to Stroke lesson program is tailored to introduce (not perfect) the basic stroke techniques. These lessons are best suited for children ages 6 and older. However, some children may be developmentally ready for stroke at an earlier age.

Due to the effort and dedication required on your child's part, s/he will need to have the ability AND desire to follow verbal directions in the aquatic environment. If a grown child (4+ years old) does not want to participate, it is virtually impossible to teach them. While younger children can be presented with sensory-motor opportunities that require a response to learn the skills, older children have the developmental capabilities to physically refuse the learning process.

For children under the age of 6, our requirements to participate in this type of lesson is a minimum age of 4.5 years old and 2 years of swim-float-swim mastery. In addition, an evaluation day will be required. Acceptance into stroke lessons is solely at the discretion of the Instructor.
